On Wednesday April 21 2010 we are holding our 9th NextWomen London Kitchen Dinner

The keynote will come from Gita Patel, a very active business angel, co-founder of Stargate Capital and creator of the Trapezia Funds to invest in women led businesses- and promises to be as good as our previous speakers who have come from Google, Yelp, Facebook and theOutNet.

Gita is a co-founder of Stargate and a fund manager of Stargate's Trapezia EIS Fund. She was also the creator of the Trapezia programme which included launching Europe's first venture fund, Trapezia EIS Fund, targeting women-focussed businesses. Gita plays a leading role in growing women's entrepreneurship, a field in which she has aquired substantial experience and provided thought leadership over the past five years.

Trapezia EIS was the first UK venture capital fund dedicated to women’s enterprise. Backed by two institutional investors, HBOS and the Consensus Business Group, it closed at £4.5m and we’ve invested in 9 businesses – typically £250k to £500k in quality management teams with entrepreneurial drive and tenacity.

As it was clear that the market could support a larger venture capital vehicle targeting these promising businesses in this rapidly-growing arena of women-focused enterprise, Patel is launching a second fund, the Trapezia EIS II Fund. 

The Trapezia Funds have invested in various succesful companies, such as Greenersolutions.com, Femeda.com, Cupcakemum.com and Auctionatrium.co.uk

The formula is simple: Up to 20 leading, founding and investing women and men will get together for a veritable feast of culinary delights and fine wine in our very own kitchen, an inspiring keynote and the chance to exchange ideas with the whole party.

Engage in conversation with entrepreneurial career women and fellow female business heroes on topics including the world of the internet and how to conquer it.
